Gulliver 1% EC
GULLIVER 1% EC is a plant growth regulator that contains forchlorfenuron (CPPU) to increase fruit size in grapes.
Introduction
The plant growth regulator, GULLIVER,
has cytokinin-like activity that promotes cell division, increases cell number
and fruit size, and improves fruit quality. It tends to increase berry diameter
in grapes, in contrast to gibberellic acid which has a greater effect on berry
length. It is one of the most active promoters of cell division known.
In Kiwis (Hayward and Bruno Varieties) and in Pears (Spadona
and Costia Varieties) Gulliver increases fruit quality and size and it provides
significant potential to improve cropping without any negative aspects.
Features and Benefits:
Mode of Action
Forchlorfenuron, the active ingredient, is absorbed through stems, leaves, flowers and fruit. It is not translocated, and so a spray targeted at the fruit optimizes activity.
GULLIVER
may also reduce fruit drop and prolong shelf life of treated fruit. At higher
rates it may delay fruit ripening.
GULLIVER is not systemic and applications are made prior to the formation of new buds, and so treatment has no direct influence on cropping in the following year.
GULLIVER is particularly recommended
for white grape varieties.
